Dr. Reineke’s recent viewpoint has been featured by the Feb. 2016 ACS Polymer Science Podcast. This is the first ever special podcast on the Virtual Issue published by ACS Macro Letters, titled Stimuli-Responsive Polymers for Biological Detection & Delivery.
Managing Editor, Paulomi Majumder, interviews Prof. Theresa Reineke, Associate Editor of ACS Macro Letters, who edited this virtual themed compilation. The podcast can be played below.

From the Chemistry Department website:
Professor Theresa Reineke’s work on stimuli-responsible polymers for biological detection and delivery is highlighted in an ACS Macro Letters virtual issue.
Responsive polymers with properties designed to interact with their surrounding environment are enabling “smart” design features to significantly enhance the delivery of therapeutics and diagnostic imaging agents.
The virtual issue features a collection of 15 articles based on a viewpoint recently authored by Reineke, “Stimuli Responsive Polymers for Biological Delivery and Detection.”
Reineke’s article highlights an array of innovative chemical attributes that promote pH-triggered hydrolytic degradation, reduction-based release, photomodulation, glucose-responsiveness, thermal sensitivity, and membrane permeating peptides. These specialized functions are allowing custom-tailored biomaterials with enhanced biological delivery, pharmaceutical potency and safety, disease diagnosis, and antigen/biomaker detection.
Professor Reineke was interviewed about this field by the American Chemical Society, which is available via podcast on the ACS Macro Letters website.
